  I have lived in Japan for all of my life and I am half Japanese. But whenever I walk in the street people always look at me and I think it’s a bit strange and I have been wondering about this since I was 6 years old. But now I have found out why they are all looking at me. It is because I look like a foreigner. I’m not entirely a foreigner because I’m half Japanese but the thing is, I don’t look Japanese.

  Sometimes I’ve spotted people looking at me when they are in the middle of something, or people walking away from me. I’m not offended but I think its really weird and disturbing. Its like I have a disease or something. But what I do find offensive is when people go up to me and call me ‘Gaijin’, meaning foreigner in Japanese.

  I think that’s a bit racist because its just like going up to someone and calling them a foreigner. In some ways it is appropriate calling something foreign like a restaurant or an accessory but not people unless you know the person. 

   I don’t like racist people, like Nazis or the Japanese the right wing extremist groups for example, because of the things they do. I think that it is very unreasonable to be racist because we are all human and in the inside we are all the same but on the outside we look different. Also people could be racist because you have wight skin or your religion.                 

  For example, Obama the most powerful person in the whole world is worried because he is a black person and there is a sign of threats from racist people.

 So I think the big lesson here is to respect peoples backgrounds, religions, beliefs and languages.

What do you think about using a blog/ website for learning at school?

I think that using a blog to learn at school is unique way of learning and you can get peoples opinions of different things. I would never have thought of this idea

What are the best/worst things about using blogs?

The best things of having a blog is looking at other peoples opinions and ideas. Also you don’t really have to write it all up on a pice of paper which sometimes gets boring. It also says if you spelled a word wrong and its really useful and your work doesn’t get messy
The worst things are, some times you forget to save your work and its all deleted and thats happened to me and its really annoying. 

Do you like the idea of using your blog/website for other classes, not just English? What subjects and why?

We don’t use any blogs for other subjects.

What are your favourite websites that you use?

My favourite website is definitely youtube.

What would you like to be able to do use your blog/ website for? What ideas have you got?

I don’t think it need improvement because it a blog website.

Do you think it is important to learn how to use things like blogs? Why? Why not?

Yes because we might need blogs in the future.

   ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ was one of the most sad movies that I have ever seen In my life. There is a lot of creativity and imagination in this movie. I have heard that it has won a lot of Oscar awards. For me the movie was a bit of a bumpy road because it was sometime happy and sometimes sad. Also it was a very long movie but it was definitely worth it. 

   I liked the guy who said ‘Have I ever told you that I was struck by lightning 7 times?’ because watching him get struck by lightning was very funny. My favorite character is Benjamin because I felt sorry for him and what he had been through. I always thought that being born old and dying young would be cool but now I wouldn’t like being like that because now I see all the consequences. I also like the starting of the film when the clock was ticking backwards and at the end of the movie I could see why they did that.

   It also felt like I was Benjamin and could get a clear picture of his life. Like wanting to go around the corner or wanting to walk. It was sad when Benjamin and Daisy had to leave each other. When Benjamin died and Daisy said that at the last second who she was I felt annoyed because he could have remembered her before.

Pitch black, that’s what I mostly see everyday. Usually I’m inside a pocket, wallet, purse or a cash register.  People think that us coins don’t have feelings but coins are not what you think.

It all started on a cold winters day when I was dropped out of a kid’s pocket. I am used to being dropped out of someone’s pocket. I think that it is clumsy of them because they should get a tighter pocket or fix the holes in their pocket. Or a better idea is to get their own wallet. Well this kid’s problem was that he had a hole in his pocket.

So there I was in the snow lying there just waiting for someone to pick me up and bring me in their warm cozy home. But I am only a 10-cent coin. I could feel the coldness soaking into my metal heart. I could see on the public clock that it was nearly midnight. Every time the clock ticked it seemed to get colder then ever.

Then I heard footsteps coming from the corner. I thought that it was unusual to see someone out so late. He was a homeless person. I think that he was out at night to look for things on the ground. I really didn’t want to be in his hands because they were all dirty and covered in dirt. Then I saw him stop right next to me. He was towering over me like a title wave would, when its about to drown someone.

He had a white beard looking all spiky and tangled up and looked like he needed a comb. He had a red face probably because of all of the cold. He had very bushy eyebrows and he was very skinny and looked like he needed to gain a bit of weight for the cold. He had a buttoned red-stripped shirt with a gray jacket on and a pair of jeans. He also had a blue and yellow-stripped hat on his head.

He could see me and chose to pick me up. He smiled the biggest smile I had ever seen before and started dancing up and down the street and started laughing and jumping up and down. It felt like I was on a roller coaster and I got very dizzy. Then he stopped, taking deep breaths. Then he looked at me with shiny eyes looking look like he could cry a whole waterfall. He started saying to me, “Hello, my name is James and you are my first coin I have ever had and I am going to keep you for ever.”

I really didn’t want to be in this guys dirty hands but he said that I was his first coin that was worth something. So I guess I would be ok with it. Then I started to like James because he was different to other people and some how knew that I actually had a soul even though I was only a 10 cent coin.

Then I was hit right out of his hands and into the snow again. Then less then a second later another person picked me up again. I knew that it wasn’t in James’s hands again because it wasn’t as soft or comforting. Just in the gap of this stranger’s hands I could see that James got up onto his feet and started running faster than ever and leaped to this strangers feet and one’s more I was hit out of his hands. Then James picked me up again and told me, “everything is going to be aright and I will take you back to my house and warm you up.” Suddenly the other guy took me out of James hands and took me into a 24-hour shop and took a can of beer and was going to put me into a cash register. Then again out of is hands and I was hit onto the floor and I was in James’s hands again. I could see that the other man was homeless too and he was on the ground crying in pain.

So he brought me to his home with a bunch of other people who where homeless people. Some of them didn’t even have their full set of teeth and lost arms and fingers. I felt so sad when I saw all of these people. Usually I am carried around by a rich person who thinks I am nothing but a solid piece of metal, but now I see how different I feel and I feel like a piece of gold like I’m shining in the spotlight. He put me under a piece of tissue to sleep in. “good night precious,” he said to me, in my heart I said “good night” and he looked like he heard me. I felt warm again in my soul.

The book ‘Series of Unfortunate Events’ is not a book. It is a “series” which means a collection of many books like the first, second and third books, that is a series. When I was younger I read the first book and I didn’t even understand a word of what it was saying so I left it for a very long time. But now I have come back to the series and read the first and second book. I thought that it was good and I am reading the third one. I thought that the second book was very happy but then annoying because Count Olaf came as a disguise and then it was sad and annoying. 

Well in the first book the parents of the Baudelaire’s have died in a fire and have been adopted by a very bad man called Count Olaf and wants to steal their fortune because their parents were very rich. So he made a play and pretended to marry Violet the oldest Baudelaire when he actually was going to marry her with a REAL paper for her to sign. If she didn’t then the youngest Baudelaire, Sunny who is only a infant will be thrown of a tower. But the Baudelaires managed to escape.

The second book is for you to find out, unless you have read it before.

During the winter break I watched Mummy 3 on the airplane. Then my dad wanted to see it and I did too, so we rented the DVD. 

My opinion of Mummy 3 was good, I enjoyed it and I might watch it again. I thought that the graphics and special effects were great. There was a point in the film when fire was coming out of a three-headed dragon’s mouth and it looked real. The mummy gets shot in the movie and he recovers from the shots and it looks creative and real. They came up with really good ideas with all of the monsters and tricks that they do. 

I thought that the action sequences were great, but the story went a bit too fast in getting from place to place. For example, when they went from London all the way to China then to the Himalayas it went past in about 5 minutes. Even though that happened, the story line was exiting and interesting.

I thought the acting was very good. The actor who played the Dad was excellent; he was very believable and fun to watch. It was the same with all of the actors but especially the dad. There were two witches in the movie. They were both Chinese one mother and one daughter that usually wore a type of Chinese kimono. You could see that the mum was older and the daughter was younger. I wish that there were more spells from the witches when they were fighting but the first spell was brilliant. My favourite character was the bad guy because he was really cool and he had really wicked tricks. The bad guy was Jet Lee. He’s famous for Kung Fu fighting and he has used his Kung Fu skills and moves in this film so I liked him the best.

I used to think that Mummies were only found in Egypt but they are also found in China and at the end of the film I found out that there are also Mummies in Peru.  

I don’t really follow the series but just from watching this one I am waiting for the next Mummy movie and I hope I enjoy it more. 

      My opinion of Wall-E is some times funny but mostly boring because there isn’t much action. I expected a little better and a little disappointed. I thought that the story line was good. There was a lesson learned for all people to not be greedy and looking at that, I didn’t eat to many sweets. Also because we saw how horrible and dirty the world looked with all that garbage and pollution, it made us see how the world might look like if we don’t control pollution.
